A 3-story strip club will open next week in downtown Minneapolis

A global adult entertainment chain will be opening a three-story strip club in downtown Minneapolis next week.

California-based Spearmint Rhino, which has locations in the U.S., Australia and the United Kingdom, will be opening one its famous topless bars at 725 Hennepin Ave. on April 16, the Star Tribune reports.

"They're the powerhouse of their industry. And they have a more corporate perspective than local operators," Cristina Kabanuk of BTN Properties, which owns the building, told the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reports. "They're going for more sophisticated adult entertainment with a more upscale clientele. It's definitely show business."

Chris Dahl, the manager of the Minneapolis location, told the Star Tribune that the upscale adult entertainment venue is "like going from a family steakhouse to Manny's ... when you walk in, you know you're in an upscale venue."

The company gutted the 11,000-square-foot space, which was home to Lure Show Club, also a strip club, until 2013, FOX 9 notes. When it opens it will have two formal stages, a bar, a VIP section, a dining area and private rooms in the basement, the Business Journal notes.

Spearmint Rhino's Facebook page says it is accepting applications for all positions, and anticipates to have a staff of about 25, plus 40 to 60 dancers, the Star Tribune notes.

The club will be open seven days a week from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., according to its Facebook page.
