NJ.com says the New Jersey Transit train sped into the Hoboken station around 8:45 a.m. and crashed into the indoor platform and waiting area. It was coming from Spring Valley, New York.

NBC New York reports at least 100 people are reported injured, and at least one person is confirmed dead. Witnesses describe a crowded first two train cars, then lots of screaming and scenes of bloodied people following the wreck, the station says.

According to CNN, the train's engineer was unresponsive and taken from the scene. Everyone who was trapped is believed to have been freed, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said, according to the station.

The Associated Press reports Christie also added there's no reason to believe it was anything other than an accident.
