A woman was fatally shot outside a bar in Atlanta early Saturday morning. She's been identified as 25-year-old Taylor Hayden, the sister of Minnesota State Sen. Jeff Hayden.

Police tell the Atlanta Journal Constitution that the incident happened around 5 a.m. She was taken to the hospital but did not survive.

Since, the senator changed his profile picture on his personal Facebook page to a photo with him and his sister.

The Star Tribune says Hayden also posted about what happened.

"It is with a heavy heart that I report that my sister Taylor Hayden has been killed," the post reads.

It goes on to explain that his sister got "caught in the crossfire of two rival gangs."

KARE 11 reports a family friend said the same thing – that two groups of men had been shooting at each other and Hayden got hit.

The incident is under investigation.

Sen. Jeff Hayden represents south-central Minneapolis, or District 62.
