A play that made its debut at the Guthrie Theater has been nominated for a prestigious London theater award.
Nice Fish is up for best new comedy at the Olivier Awards, which will be held April 9 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The is a play centered on two friends who are ice fishing in Minnesota, with the New York Times calling it not so much a traditional play, but one that features monologues and vignettes.
It's all based on the poetry of Duluth's Louis Jenkins, who created the play with Tony and Academy Award-winning actor Mark Rylance, according to the Guthrie Theater. It also stars Twin Cities actor Jim Lichtscheidl, with music by Claire van Kampen.
