The Business Journal reports the agriculture giant is planning to move its headquarters from Decatur, Ill. in 2014. The company is seeking a city with more amenities and easier access to air travel. About 100 corporate jobs and 100 IT jobs will accompany the new headquarters.
Bloomberg reported that the site selection team paid back-to-back visits to Dallas and Atlanta on Oct. 8 and 9. The team has also met with economic development officials in Chicago. St. Louis, Indianapolis, Denver and Houston have been identified in media reports as cities that are under consideration, but the company hasn't specified what cities it is reviewing.
Archer Daniels Midland was founded in Minneapolis more than a century ago and maintains operations in the state.
