After fish attack on police cars, vandals turn to fire

Just a few months after someone threw 30-pound dead carp at Orono police vehicles in the far west metro, officers on Friday found two badly burned vehicles.

Vandals have no mercy for police vehicles in Orono in the far west metro. They hit three cop cars in June with spray paint and broke a window while pelting the vehicles with heavy dead carp, WCCO reported.

Early Friday, Orono police found two more vehicles badly burned and they suspect arson, the Star Tribune reports.

KSTP has video of the charred remains. The cars were a total loss and police estimate their value at $100,000, KSTP says:

Authorities on Tuesday who were searching for a suspected stolen BMW in Loeb Lake in St. Paul found the car -- along with a second submerged vehicle. Crews were preparing to tow both cars out of the water. It's believed no one was in the BMW went it went into the water Tuesday morning. Police are looking for two men seen running from the scene.
