Amazon to expand North Dakota operations

Amazon.com Inc. has announced it will fill 7,000 jobs in 13 states, including in North Dakota. The world's largest retailer currently operates a customer service center in Grand Forks.

Forum Communications reports that the company will add 2,000 customer service jobs, including full-time, part-time and seasonal work, in North Dakota, Kentucky, Washington and West Virginia. The number to be added in North Dakota has not been announced.

The company also announced the addition of 5,000 full-time jobs at U.S. distribution centers where Amazon now employs 20,000 workers who pack and ship customer orders. Warehouse jobs will be available in Arizona, Delaware, California, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
