The Business Journal reports that Hoover's says the California specialty door maker has about 50 employees and sales of $5.6 million. The Wall Street Journal's MarketWatch carried the BusinessWire press release says the Boards of Director for the two privately held companies unanimously approved the transaction. It also said that Andersen plans to continue Weiland's production and operations in San Diego.
"Specialty doors are a growing market segment as outdoor living spaces have increased in popularity," said Andersen Corporation Chairman, President and CEO Jay Lund said in the statement.
Weiland's specialty door products include lift and slide, folding doors, pivot doors and European-styled tilt and turn windows.
Terms of the deal were not released.
