Andover arson fires have residents stunned and police searching

Police do not have any suspects and they are asking for assistance from the public.

KARE 11 reports that four homes on Vale Street in Andover were hit by arson fires during the early morning hours on Tuesday. One of the homes was actually targeted a second time early Thursday morning.

The majority of the fires were set on the exteriors of the homes, often near gas meters. However, on the home that was targeted twice, the fire was ignited under the rear deck. That fire did the most damage, and actually included some extensive smoke damage.

The Coon Rapids Herald reports that the Anoka County Sheriff's Office is asking residents in the neighborhood to extra vigilant, and be on the lookout for suspicious activity after dark. They see if you see suspicious activity after dark to call 911.

Authorities say that fires have been set at four homes, in a neighborhood east of Hanson Boulevard.

So far damage to the homes has been minimal to moderate.

Police are asking anyone with information on the arson fires to contact the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
