Annual gun show to move from Wisconsin elementary school

An elementary school in Spooner, Wis., will no longer be the site of an annual gun show, KARE-TV reports.

The decision was made to move the Indianhead Rifle and Pistol Club's show away from the Spooner Elementary School after two decades.

The Spooner School Board questioned the location of the event last month: a response to December's school shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

The club will now hold the event at Spooner's Civic Center.

The move comes amid an intense debate over the nation's gun control laws.

Minnesota lawmakers were entrenched in hearings on gun laws last week, about the same time President Barack Obama made his plea for changes in gun control laws during his visit to Minneapolis.
