Five metro post offices all clear after bomb threats

KARE 11 reports that authorities have a person of interest in a series of bomb threats that closed five north metro post offices Friday morning. Post offices in Robbinsdale, Elk River, Anoka, Coon Rapids and Brooklyn Center were evacuated and searched after the threats were received in the mail. KSTP reported that Capt. Scott Nolan of the Anoka Police Dept. saidsurrounding neighborhoods in Anoka were not affected.

Bomb threats last April and June resulted in no bombs, but criminal charges against those who made the threats.


NDSU campus reopens after bomb threat, evacuation

Students at North Dakota State University in Fargo were evacuated Friday morning from classes after a bomb threat was made, the Valley News reports. An emergency message sent to students and posted on the university's website ordered all students and employees to leave campus by 10:15 am. A similar incident was reported at about the same time at the University of Texas at Austin.
