Another escape room game is coming to MN, this time at Mall of America

Escape room games have become pretty popular in recent years.

It's time to summon your inner Sherlock Holmes, another escape room game is coming to Minnesota.

The Escape Game, one of the many companies behind the increasingly popular escape room experiences, is opening at Mall of America this summer (an exact date hasn't been released yet).

In these hour-long games, groups of up to eight people work together to find clues and solve puzzles based on the game's theme in order to escape from a locked room before time runs out.

The themes at Escape Game Minneapolis include: Mission: Mars, Prison Break, Gold Rush and The Heist.

The Escape Game Minneapolis will fill a 3,300-square-foot space on the third floor of Mall of America, near Sears. It'll be the first Escape Game location in Minnesota, however the company has opened others in Nashville, Chicago, Austin and elsewhere.

"I can’t think of a more appropriate setting for The Escape Game’s flagship location than Mall of America," Mark Flint, one of the founders of The Escape Game, said in a news release. "This is an important step in The Escape Game’s strategy to bring our innovative experiential entertainment concept to the mainstream, and to be able to do it on one of retail’s most iconic stages is very exciting for our team."

A game will run about $28 a person, according to the Escape Game Nashville website. For more information on the Escape Game Minneapolis – and to book a game – click here (the website will be up and running soon).

There are about a dozen different escape rooms in the Twin Cities, WCCO says.
