This is why we can't have nice things.

Rather than following the detour, a clearly very important driver just couldn't wait to get wherever they were going, and caused "substantial damage" in Goodhue County.

Goodhue County Public Works put an appeal on its Facebook page for information about a white Ford Focus which dodged "multiple sets of barricades" before driving onto fresh concrete overlay.

The results, as you can tell from the picture above, are obvious.

The incident happened between Goodhue and Zumbrota and is seeking anyone with information.

Anyone with a lead should call the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office on 651-385-3155.

"As taxpayers this concerns everyone so PLEASE keep your ears open and help us catch this irresponsible driver!!!" the Facebook post says.
