Arrowhead leads state jump in real estate sales, prices


The Minnesota Association of Realtors reported another growth month in home transactions, with a 4.5 percent leap in the number of closed real estate sales across the state in June compared to the same month a year ago.

The Pioneer Press reports that the state's median home price is now $185,000, a 14 percent increase from last June.

The Star Tribune reports that the Arrowhead Region of northeastern Minnesota, including the Iron Range and the North Shore of Lake Superior, saw the biggest jump, with the number of closed sales going up by 29.6 percent.

The Twin Cities metro saw closed sales rise 7 percent.
