Police return stolen gifts to newlyweds

Police tracked down some of the stolen gifts that belonged to a newlywed couple, KSTP reports. Many of their wedding presents were stolen out of their SUV while it was parked at the Comfort Suites on County Road 65 in Blaine over the weekend. But officers, pursuing a suspect in another matter, discovered the stolen items in a motel room.

St. Paul driving toward streetcars

Four decades after streetcars vanished, St. Paul is in the initial phases of exploring a plan to bring them back to the city to spur development and offer more transit options, Finance and Commerce reports. Already in the middle of an ambitious light-rail project, the city is also working with consultants to come up with a list of workable streetcar corridors and establish a cost estimate.
