Austin man dies after being hit by car in pasture


A 30-year-old man from Austin died after being struck by a vehicle at a social gathering on Saturday night, according to a news release.

A 2000 Chevy Suburban was driving through the pasture near the residence in Freeborn County and hit Alex Dylan Tapp.

Witnesses attempted CPR which was then continued by the first deputies to arrive. Tapp was eventually pronounced dead on the scene and transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The investigation is on-going, said the statement.
