Authorities ID man found dead in freezer at home in Shorewood

Authorities have formally identified the man found dead in a freezer after he was murdered in a Shorewood home last month, the Star Tribune reports.

Eddie Sole, 58, was identified Sunday by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, confirming earlier media reports of his identity.

Sole's girlfriend, Jeataun Wheeler, 29, of Shorewood is accused in the murder.

Authorities say in charges against Wheeler that when Sole tried to leave the relationship, the woman beat him with a closet rod, wrapped him in plastic and duct tape and hid the body in a freezer in the garage.

The coroner's office says the cause of Sole's death will remain undetermined pending further investigation.

Wheeler was taken into custody as a "person of interest" on Aug. 21 after Sole's body was found. Sole was reported missing by family members in Chicago after he did not return home after two weeks.

Wheeler was formally charged with Sole's murder on Aug. 26. Her three children, ages 10, 8 and 7, were found safe by authorities the next day after they initially could not locate them.

The woman remains jailed in lieu of $2 million bail.

Sole's daughter, Javonne Flowers, says her father had 10 children and 50 grandchildren. Sole's funeral will be held Saturday.
