Authorities: St. Paul teen's death being investigated as murder

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the case of the St. Paul teenager found dead in a towed car last week is now a confirmed murder investigation, according to a press release issued Wednesday.

Brittany Clardy, 18, was reported missing by family members on Feb. 11. after she left in her mother's car to go to the store and never returned.

Clardy's concealed body was discovered in a Columbia Heights impound lot last Thursday, eight days after it was towed from a Brooklyn Park apartment complex.

Very few details have been released. Authorities are not saying any more about the cause of death.

The case remains under investigation by the Columbia Heights, Brooklyn Park and St. Paul Police Departments and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
