A two-week-old Bactrian camel calf has joined the rest of its herd along the Northern Trail, the Minnesota Zoo announced Tuesday.

The big baby, who has not been named, weighed 120 pounds when he was born on March 12. FOX9 reports camel calves typically gain two pounds per day and will eventually reach anywhere from 1,600 to 1,800 pounds as adults in about three to four years.

KSTP says the new calf is the sixth baby for mom "Sybil" and the 22nd for dad "Turk." The gestation period for the endangered species is about a year.

Bactrian camels are native to Mongolia's Gobi Desert, where only a few remain in the wild.
