Baby food recall: Pieces of glass found in Beech-Nut product

Author:

Beech-Nut Nutrition is recalling 1,920 pounds of baby food products after a consumer reported small pieces of glass were found in the food, the USDA announced Tuesday.

The product affected – Stage 2 Beech-Nut Classics sweet potato and chicken in 4 ounce glass jars – was produced on Dec. 12, 2014, and has an expiration date of December 2016.

Baby food with product numbers "12395750815" through "12395750821" are affected by the recall.

This item was shipped to retail locations nationwide. Beech-Nut Nutrition products are sold at Cub Foods, Walgreens and Wal-Mart, among other locations across Minnesota.

Beech-Nut says there was only one report of glass being found in baby food, but it is recalling the product out of an abundance of caution.
