The Twin City Model Railroad Museum is chugging along again, but in a new location.

Last year, the volunteer-run specialty museum fell behind in payments and faced eviction. So it called out for help, asking for donors.

People pitched in to help the museum that's been running in St. Paul since 1934.

Then in January, the non-profit announced it'd be packing up and moving from Bandana Square to a new, more affordable location.

The museum shut down for months as workers packed up trains, tracks and other displays for the move.

Then Saturday morning, model trains fired up their engines in Suite 8 of 668 Transfer Road. People were invited to check out the new facility.

According to a news release, the new location features popular toy train layouts from the previous place. It also has traveling layouts from across the region, and completely new toy train setups.

The famous "O-Scale" exhibit – which is a layout of the Twin Cities – is still being set up. However, people are invited to take a peak at how exhibit is built.

The Twin City Model Railroad Museum will be open weekends only, for now. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sundays, it's open noon - 5 p.m.

Through its summer preview season, tickets cost $5. Children 4-years-old and younger get in free.

The museum is planning to have a grand opening celebration in the fall.
