Bail for Andrew Dikken, the suspect in the double murder in Granite Falls, has been set at $3 million.
KARE 11 reports that Judge Thomas Van Hon called Dikken an extreme flight risk in setting his bail. Dikken evaded police for two weeks before turning himself in at the Renville County Courthouse in Olivia, after he was named a person of interest in September 2nd double murder.
The criminal complaint alleges that Dikken entered the Granite Falls home of 26-year-old Kara Monson and her 28-year-old boyfriend Christopher Panitzke and shot each multiple times. Police have said Monson was Dikken's former girlfriend.
About 30 people, including family members of the victims were in the courtroom gallery, according to the Marshall Independent. The newspaper said Dikken appeared wearing handcuffs and leg irons.
At Thursday's hearing, the judge made sure Dikken had received a copy of the criminal complaint, and understands his legal right to an attorney and a trial.
Dikken's next hearing is set for October 3 at 10:45 a.m.
