Lariat Lanes has been a staple in Richfield since 1958, offering open times for families, leagues and party options.

Vita.mn called it "a dull brick box outside, a tribute to the golden age of league bowling inside."

Minnesota Monthly said celebrities including Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, Garth Brooks, and the Beastie Boys have all tried to record a strike at Lariat Lanes over the years.

On Facebook and Twitter, Lariat fans reacted to the news.
