Update: Missing Bemidji State student found safe

After asking for the public's help, authorities say they have located a missing Bemidji State University student.

The Leech Lake Tribal Police Department said Erik Jones, an 18-year-old student at Bemidji State University, was last seen on Saturday, Dec. 20. At the time, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dark hightop shoes. Police say he lived in the Oak dorms on campus.

Around 9 a.m., Tuesday Leech Lake Tribal police posted the following:

Where or how he was found have not been divulged. No information about the circumstances of his disappearance were released.
