Good morning! Dana walked us through the legal system this morning in case you were wondering. We are one week away from Thanksgiving and that means food. Countdown is on people!
6:15 Ditching social media
People are getting off social media more and more these days, and celebrities like Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner are joining the movement. Now that everyone is off social media, there is more time to play the Nintendo Classic games like Ben and Dana have been addicted to for the last week, and we have a little inside scoop about how to get your hands on one. We might just bring some holiday joy to a lucky listener.
6:30 Songs that just get stuck in your head
It's Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday. Just kidding it's Thursday and we're talking about every song ever that gets stuck in your head for unknown reasons, and you can't help but to dance and sing in your place. Whenever Ben lets his dog out he finds himself singing "Who Let the Dogs Out." Woof Woof! We don't know how it got there or where it came from, but Dana finds himself humming along to the Power Rangers theme song. Maybe it's a commercial, maybe it's Katy Perry song, whatever it is, we are all feeling the struggle with you.
6:50 The Trend
Manslaughter charges for the police officer in the Philando Castile shooting came out yesterday, and it's the first time in Minnesota history that these kind of charges have been handed out. Celebrate Give to the Max Day with your fellow Minnesotans to get into the holiday mood. Finally in "just annoying" news, United Airlines will be charging you to store your carry-on luggage on a plane. As if 2016 couldn't get worse, we now have to deal with this.
7:15 Ask A Cop
Officer Schmidt is hanging out in studio answering your cop questions. Giselle thought she might have been followed to work (scary!) and wanted to find out what the best thing to do is. Go to a well lit area with a lot of people, if it continues call 911. We also asked (for the first time, surprisingly) what the punishment for grabbing a cop's gun is. Well, unsurprisingly, it's a felony charge for grabbing anything on a cop's belt, flashlight included.
7:30 $1000 Minute
Officer Schmidt hung out while we played $1000 Minute with Angie. She got stumped on a couple of questions but took home $55 for knowing the characters of The Office. Yay Angie!
8:15 Get To Know
Katie texted in wanting to know what two animals we want to fuse into our very own pet. Ben would have a Sasquatch-hawk mixture called a Squak! Giselle took her own spin on it, creating a dog-panda named Carlos, species name still unknown. Dana is creating a duck and tyrannosaurus rex to make the ultimate in pets: a duckasaurus rex. We heard from you about what kind of super-pet you would create!
8:30 Relationship Advice
Our friend Jordan emailed Ben, Dana and Giselle about the guest list for his upcoming wedding. His fiancé wants to invite her guy friends, some of whom may have seen her a naked. Jordan says absolutely not, but they are her friends and she's marrying Jordan, so why should he be so upset? We heard from you about what Jordan should do, and took some advice from the team about just what is the best for the big day.
9:50 Weekend Shenanigans
Head over to St. Paul's Rice Park this Saturday for the tree lighting and ice skating ribbon cutting ceremony that will stay lit all throughout the Winter Carnival.
Betty Danger's Country Club will be having hot chocolate and cider available for sleigh rides in the sky all winter long (or as much as Minnesotan's can handle).
Pig and Fiddle Holiday Arts and Craft Beer Festival for people who want to drink and shop.
Tim Horton's Grand Opening at Mall of America with free Timbits!
Don't forget the Daily Rap Up with Chaz Kangas (@chazraps) who freestyles a secret word and recaps everything we talked about previously in the show.
