Ben, Dana and Giselle's replay: 12/5/16

Hatchimals, Home Alone, and promise rings.

Somehow we're 20 days out from Christmas.

We're really feeling the holiday mood because of the hottest toy this year, Hatchimals. They are hatching eggs with tiny owl animals that you have to take care of as if it were a real pet. They are trainable and going for around $200 on various sites. So honestly, we are just wondering how these things became so cool but also we kind of wanted one.

6:15 -Dakota Access Pipeline

Peaceful protests pay off for the group rallying for a route change in the Dakota Access Pipeline. It has been months but the Army Corp has officially said they will be looking at alternative options. It is currently halted from further expansion and the tribe living on the land claimed that the pipeline would potentially pollute the water. This is a big win and it shows just what happens when people come together to peacefully express their opinions.

6:30 - Home Alone

One of everyone's favorite Christmas movies, Home Alone, has some very surprising fun facts that we didn't know we needed in our lives, but we're sure happy we know now.

6:50 - The Trend

The Dakota Access Pipeline has been halted with a major success erupting after the peaceful protesting. Mike Zimmer's eye is causing more problems as he under went another surgery. Ever heard of Hatchimals? Well, it's the hottest gift of the season and almost every kid in your life probably wants one. The re-sale price tag though is a bit high for the holiday season.

7:15 - Cyber bullying

Recently, Giselle posted a video of the Daily Show debate between Trevor Noah and Tomi Lahren. People got a little too vulgar (because it's 2016 duh!) and very disheartening with their comments and anger towards just about everything. The user made comments regarding G's weight, other users lifestyle's and just the despicable language was too much to handle. Well, he got blocked and we're all just disgusted from the guy just hiding behind his computer.

7:30 - $1,000 Minute

Ed might have been a little nervous through $1,000 Minute, but he ended up taking home cash. You could too, Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. Play along!

8:15 - Get to Know

A big thank you to our friend, Caleb who gave Ben, Dana and Giselle a Hatchimal. A real Hatchimal is in studio, watch out for how you might be able to get your hands on it! So we asked, what was the gift that you wanted most when you were a kid? Cabbage Patch Kids, Tamagotchi and Barbie Dream House were all fan favorites.

8:30 - Promise Rings, that's still a thing

Giselle's friend recently received a promise ring, and she's not in high school. She's in a two-year relationship and living with her boyfriend for close to a year. Is that normal?

9:30 - Free and Fun Things to Do with Intern Anna

- Monday at Volstead House Whiskey Bar and Speakeasy celebrate Repeal Day and get your prohibition on.

Cheftender at Constantine where the chef's become bar tenders all for a good cause. Hang out on Tuesday starting at 8 p.m.

- Did someone say beer and doughnuts? Yes, we're not kidding! Doughnuts and Beer Night with Surly and Bogart's is on Thursday starting at 7 p.m.

9:50 - Rap Up

Don't forget the Daily Rap Up with Chaz Kangas (@chazraps) who freestyles a secret word and recaps everything we talked about previously in the show.
