Todd Blyleven, the son of Hall of Fame pitcher and current Minnesota Twins TV broadcaster, Bert Blyleven, was among the 22,000 country music fans attacked by gunfire in Las Vegas Sunday night.

Todd Blyleven got out OK, but after helping lead his group of friends out of harm's way, he ran back into the chaotic scene to help rescue victims.

The Washington Post talked to Todd Blyleven, who said he helped 30-40 people get out.

“I just felt like I had to,” Todd Blyleven said. “I would hope that if me, or my family, was in a situation like that, that someone would come in and get me.”

More of the story was captured in this tweet.

Blyleven posted on his Facebook page that he was in Las Vegas with his wife and friends celebrating his birthday.

Blyleven played minor league baseball and is now the Director of Business Development at a company in Dallas, Texas, according to his LinkedIn page
