Richfield-based Best Buy confirmed Friday that it is closing one of its Chicago-area stores, the Chicago Tribune reports.
A Best Buy spokeswoman said the closure was based on "a number of factors" and declined to say if there would be more stores closing in the Chicago area.
Word of the closure comes one week after the company said it was encouraged by its 2012 holiday sales.
The company announced in March that it was closing 50 stores nationwide, including six in the Chicago area.
The Chicago-area Best Buy store, which is located in Skokie, Ill., will shut its doors Feb. 3 and affect 58 employees.
