Best record in the WNBA fuels 2 Lynx to All-Star starter status

Maya Moore is back in the game as a starter for the fifth time.

Surprise, surprise. The Minnesota Lynx announced today that Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles were voted starters for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game.

Moore, averaging 15.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists, is making her fifth career All-Star. For Fowles, it's her fourth career All-Star nod and first with the Lynx. She's been Minnesota's best player this season, averaging 20.1 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Sue Bird (Seattle Storm), Candace Parker (Los Angeles Sparks), and Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury) are the other starters for the Western Conference. Eastern Conference starters include:

  • Tina Charles (New York Liberty)
  • Elena Delle Donne (Washington Mystics)
  • Tiffany Hayes (Atlanta Dream)
  • Jonquel Jones (Connecticut Sun)
  • Jasmine Thomas (Connecticut Sun)

The All-Star Game is July 22 at Key Arena in Seattle.

Minnesota currently leads the WNBA with a record of 13-2. Los Angeles is two games back at 12-5.

The Lynx play Friday and Sunday this week against the Phoenix Mercury.
