Big Lake man who suffered electrical shock dies

A man who was shocked while trying to charge a boat battery on Eagle Lake in Sherburne County on July 4 has died, several news outlets are reporting.

Daniel Peterson, 46, of Big Lake, was standing in about 20 inches of water on Eagle Lake on Thursday when he lost his footing and fell into the water while he was holding on to the battery charger, according to the Star Tribune. He died Sunday.

Also involved was his 49-year-old sister, who, WCCO-TV reports, was breathing on her own at the scene after neighbors provided medical assistance.

KARE 11 reports that Kris Biser was taken to St. Cloud Hospital and is expected to recover.
