Three people were arrested and more than 20 citations were handed out by police who uncovered an underage drinking party in western Minnesota.
Police in Granite Falls received a phone tip about the party on 7th Avenue, which was taking place during the Westernfest Street Dance.
Officers in attendance at the dance headed over to the house and found minors outside – who had been drinking – and some "very loud music" coming from inside.
In total, police identified 58 people on and in the property, ranging in age from 13 to 27 years old.
Three adults were arrested at the scene – one of them for hosting the party and two for fighting with officers – while 22 citations were handed out for minor consumption, drug-related charges and tobacco violations.
The Granite Falls Police Department says the party contravened the city's "social host ordinance," which cracks down on hosting parties where both alcohol and children are present.
"Violations of this ordinance will not be taken lightly," Granite Falls PD said.
