Best Buy announced a much earlier start to this year's holiday shopping season as Black Friday continues to creep into Thanksgiving.
The Richfield-based electronics retailer announced stores will open at 6 p.m on Thanksgiving and remain open overnight until 10 p.m. Friday, the Associated Press reported.
Best Boy joins several retailers opening up shop the evening of Thanksgiving. Mall of America announced that Macy's and many stores within the mall will open as early as 8 p.m.
Toys R Us, J.C. Penney and Kohl's have also shifted their hours into Thanksgiving night.
Wal-Mart got in the game even earlier by offering deals online on Nov. 1 that are typically reserved for Black Friday.
Analysts say the 2013 holiday shopping season is expected to be the most heavily discounted in years as retailers compete for dwindling consumer budgets.
