After some stop-and-go messaging from state transportation officials about when the Bloomington Ferry Bridge might be completely reopened, they now say it will happen Thursday.
The Star Tribune reports that the Minnesota Department of Transportation fielded some angry calls and emails from southwest suburban commuters who had been told that traffic would be flowing smoothly again on the Highway 169 span by Wednesday. But there was still single-lane traffic in effect, the newspaper reports.
Two-lane traffic will be restored in both directions "sometime" on Thursday, MnDOT officials said, Patch reported.
A $5.45 million project included replacing seal joints on the bridge, MnDOT reported in its project outline.
