Blue Earth, Nicollet counties offer reward for fast-footed fugitive

After two unsuccessful manhunts, authorities have offered a $1,000 reward to help track down a man wanted for nearly running over a sheriff's deputy along with several other offenses.

"He's a fast runner," Blue Earth County Sheriff Brad Peterson described 31-year-old Jacob Friedrichs to the Mankato Free Press.

Friedrichs, who's known to police for his history of meth use, was spotted in North Mankato Monday, which prompted the latest manhunt. Authorities scoured a hilly area near the intersection of highways 14 and 169 for hours until heat and humidity forced officers to give up.

KEYC says Friedrichs has eluded authorities a total of four times.

Friedrichs is accused of clipping a Blue Earth County sheriff's deputy at a traffic stop on June 29 and is connected to a string of burglaries. The newspaper says he's also a fugitive from the Minnesota Department of Corrections.

Anyone with information on Friedrichs whereabouts is asked to call 911.
