It's the third full week of high school football in Minnesota and the games are getting better and better. As teams close in on the midway point of the season, we're starting to define the contenders and pretenders. Here are Joe Nelson's "Fabulous Five" games of the week.

5. DeLasalle at St. Croix Lutheran
Just your ordinary No. 1 team in 4A against the No. 1 team in 3A. St. Croix Lutheran will likely end up winnings the Tri-Metro East Conference title and DeLasalle will probably claim the Tri-Metro West championship. The Islanders dominated this matchup for five years until the Crusaders won last year's game. Plus, DeLasalle's Reid Travis is one of the most athletic QBs in the state.

4. Monticello at Cambridge-Isanti
A couple of 2-0 teams in the new-look Mississippi 8 Conference will go toe-to-toe Friday night. This one promises to be close for a couple of reasons. 1 - Cambridge-Isanti is a defensive-minded team and most of their games are usually nip-tuck. 2 - Each of the last two meetings between these two schools has been decided by a field goal. Expect something similar in this one.

3. Totino-Grace at Anoka
I hate to put Totino-Grace in my top five two weeks in a row, but they still have a lot to prove as the No. 1 team in 5A. Anoka will provide a tough test for the Eagles. Likewise, this will be Anoka's toughest test of the season as well.

2. Blaine at Osseo
If this game is anything like the meeting between these two last year it will be fantastic. Last year Osseo scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to upset Blaine, 35-28. It was Osseo's second straight miracle win. The week before they beat Champlin Park on a last-second hail mary pass.

1. Lakeville North at Eastview
Fantastic game. That's as much as I need to say about this one. Eastview is 1-1, but they lost a game to Wayzata -- one of the state's best -- and they held the high-powered Trojans to three points in the first half. Can the Lightning's defense keep Lakeville North's offense in check? It will be a challenge. The Panthers have scored 117 points in their first two games.

Remember, tune in to FM 100.3 KFAN at 10:00 p.m. tonight or listen online right here for a complete recap of all the high school games.
