Body found along Mississippi River near U of M

A body was found in Minneapolis near the University of Minnesota Tuesday.

The Star Tribune says a person passing by told police around 11 a.m. they found the body under the Washington Avenue Bridge along West River Parkway.

Tim Busse, a university spokesperson, told BringMeTheNews the body was found close to the river and is being examined.

The body is of an adult male, WCCO reports.

Busse says the University of Minnesota Police Department is investigating.

KSTP says foul play is not suspected.

This is the second body found in the Twin Cities in two days. Monday, the body of an adult male was removed from a channel connected to Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will identify both victims.
