The body that was pulled from a lake in New Brighton is that of 32-year-old Henry McCabe of Mounds View, who has been missing for two months, police confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
A kayaker found McCabe's body Monday afternoon in Rush Lake, near New Brighton, not far from where volunteers had been searching for him, reports note.
McCabe hadn't been seen since Labor Day after he was dropped off at a Holiday gas station in Fridley, according to police.
McCabe leaves behind a wife and two children. He was an employee of the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
Police haven't said exactly how long the body has been in the lake, other than saying it's been there for "quite some time," FOX 9's Ted Haller tweeted.
Minnesota Community Policing Services, which has been helping in the search for McCabe, responded to the lake Monday night. The group confirmed to WCCO the body was found near one of their search areas.
According to police, McCabe's death does not appear to be suspicious, but the cause of his death is still undetermined pending toxicology results, KSTP reports.
The case remains under investigation by the Mounds View Police Department, the New Brighton Police Department and Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
