A man's body was pulled from the Mississippi River near the former Ford plant in St. Paul Tuesday morning, local media report.

Authorities were called at about 8 a.m. after the body was spotted, and firefighters were working to remove the body from the water, the Pioneer Press reports. It was not immediately reported who had initially seen the body.

A St. Paul police spokesman told KARE 11 it appeared the body had been in the river for some time.
