Body recovered from Lake Irving could be missing Bemidji man
A body pulled from a Lake Irving in Bemidji could be a 31-year-old man who's been missing from the area since October, the Bemidji Pioneer reports.
Police partnered with the Minnesota State Patrol Thursday to conduct a follow-up aerial search for Matthew Pulis. Northlands NewsCenter says the body was spotted approximately 100 yards from shore in the northwest corner of lake. It was recovered from the water around 2 p.m.
The Ramsey County medical examiner will determine the identity and cause of death.
Pulis was last seen in the early morning hours of Oct. 20, walking north of downtown Bemidji after leaving Toasties's bar, according to the Star Tribune. His 32nd birthday was on March 21.
Police conducted a 200 block door-to-door search of the area. Boats equipped with sonar equipment searched area lakes while helicopters surveyed the area from above.
The newspaper says Pulis is the only active missing persons case in the area.
