A bomb threat was found in the boys' bathroom of a Minnesota high school on Tuesday night during a basketball game.

The Aitkin Police Department confirmed to BringMeTheNews that a "non-specific bomb threat" was found in a bathroom stall near the gym of Aitkin High School.

The school's boy's basketball team was playing at the time, with police called in when the threat was found.

School custodial staff and police searched the buildings throughout Tuesday evening and on Wednesday morning, but nothing was found and the building was declared safe.

A man whose son was at the game told BringMeTheNews parents were informed of the incident on Wednesday morning through an automated phone message from the school.

School went ahead as normal today, but Aitkin police say an investigation into who wrote the threat is pending.
