A 5-year-old boy was fatally shot as he slept on a couch Tuesday morning in north Minneapolis, WCCO reports. A bullet was fired from outside the home. No one else inside was seriously injured.

No one is in custody, local media report.

The shooting scene is about 20 blocks from the home where 3-year-old Terrell Mayes was fatally shot exactly six months ago, KARE 11 reports. Terrell's mother, Marsha Mayes, came to the neighborhood to talk to reporters about Tuesday's shooting. Her son's death remains unsolved, and she said she keeps her remaining children indoors.
