Brad "The Beer Guy" Magerkurth of Bloomington who received an exclusive bottle of beer brewed at the White House from President Barack Obama himself is using the "honey ale" for a good cause.

According to a press release from Media Minefield, Magerkurth has donated the one-of-a-kind bottle to Amplatz Children's Hospital at the U of M as an auction item.

The highest bidder will get to drink a small glass of the home brew. Magerkurth and his colleagues at Artisan Beer Company will also sample the beer to give the White House a review.

In August, Magerkurth happened to bump into President Obama at a diner in Iowa. After shaking hands with the President, Margerkurth told him, "I'm the beer guy." Obama gave Magerkurth an unmarked bottle of special "honey" beer that he and the first lady brew themselves.
