Brainerd native is dominating in the minors for the Twins

Nick Anderson also attended St. Cloud State University.

After getting shellacked for 28 runs in nine innings this week, the Twins' bullpen ranks dead last in nearly every pitching category

According to LaVelle E. Neal of the Star Tribune, two more arms are being recalled after Ryan Presley was demoted and Jason Wheeler was outrighted off the roster.

In the meantime, there's another pitcher who's dominating in the minor leagues: Minnesota native Nick Anderson.

The right-hander was just promoted to Double-A after allowing only two runs in 20.1 innings this season for the Fort Myers Miracle while averaging nearly a strikeout per inning.

This isn't a flash in the pan either. Last year, Anderson was one of the best relievers in the Twins' system after he racked up 75 strikeouts in 57 innings.

Anderson attended Brainerd High School and also pitched three seasons at St. Cloud State University. He was signed by the Twins in 2015 and he's produced a career ERA of 2.00 in 90 innings during that stretch.

Double-A tends to have the best prospects and hitters in the minor leagues. If Anderson continues to get hitters out at the rate he's been producing, he could be joining the Twins at some point this season.
