Brooklyn Park PD seeking man in connection to death of 1-year-old boy

Brooklyn Park police are asking for help to find a man they believe beat a 1-year-old boy, who later died of his injuries.

Paramedics were called to the Brooklyn Park home around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a child not breathing, according to a release from police. They performed CPR, but the boy later died at the hospital.

Witnesses told police the man, who is known to family members, assaulted the child, which caused him to stop breathing. The man left before paramedics arrived, police said.

Police are asking those who may know the whereabouts of 23-year-old Reggie Delanie Harper to contact them immediately. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with blue or purple writing on it and red and black checkered pants.

Harper has not been charged.
