Buffalo Wing Wings Inc. has become a minority investor in PizzaRev, a Los Angeles-based concept offering craft-your-own artisan pizzas, according to a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Over the past year, Buffalo Wild Wings has been investigating emerging restaurant concepts with high growth potential as we continue to build our dynamic company,” Kathy Benning, Buffalo Wild Wings executive vice president of global marketing, brand and business development, said in a statement. “Along with chicken wings, pizza is one of America’s most popular foods and we believe that PizzaRev has great potential for continued growth and success.”

Last week, CNBC highlighted the success Buffalo Wild Wings has had with its wings, beer and sports business model.

The Golden Valley-based restaurant chain announced in January it was partnering with the NCAA to be "The Official Hangout of NCAA March Madness."

The company's net income soared 22 percent to $16.7 million in the fourth-quarter.
