Bullet flies over MN officer's head during traffic stop
A bullet flew over the head of an officer during a traffic stop, and now officials are trying to figure out where it came from.
The incident happened around 10:32 p.m. Monday, when a Glyndon police officer pulled someone over on Highway 10 in Clay County. During the traffic stop, a bullet was fired above the officer's head, an email statement from the Glyndon Police Department says.
Both the person the officer pulled over and another vehicle in the area confirmed they heard the shot.
No one was injured and police believe only one shot was fired.
Several agencies are assisting in the investigation, with Glyndon police noting a team of officers spoke with people in the area to make sure they were safe, while a K-9 unit assisted to search the immediate homes and farm area.
Police say the investigation is still going on, and now that there's daylight, officers plan to review the scene in hopes of figuring out where the shot was fired from.
