The man shot dead outside a Burnsville townhome complex early Tuesday morning has been identified as 23-year-old Abdifatah Ahmed Mahumod.

There was also one wounded in the shooting. Police say the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. at a townhouse in the 2100 block of East 117th Street in Burnsville. Both victims were driven about a mile away to the Super America gas station off of Cliff Road in Eagan, BMTN reported earlier.

Mahumod was dead in the car when Eagan police arrived, reports the Pioneer Press. The other man, who police have not named to protect the ongoing investigation, was hospitalized. His condition hasn't been released.

KSTP-TV says the second victim was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul

A police spokesman tells the PiPress he didn't know where or how many times Mahumod was shot.

Police continue searching for suspects, reports Channel 5. The shooting does not appear to be a random act.
