A lot of the snow that's still on the ground could melt this weekend as temperatures climb into the 40s for much of the state.
The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures in the mid-30s to mid-40s Friday and Saturday, and we could see temperatures reach 50 degrees on Sunday.
Along with these warm temperatures comes the chance for some wet weather. The weather service says most of it will fall as rain Sunday night and Monday, and there's a chance we hear a few claps of thunder.
The rain could change over to snow late Monday or Tuesday, especially in northern Minnesota where temperatures are cooler, MPR News' Updraft blog says.
The chance for snow, with temperatures in the 20-30 degree range, will continue through Thursday, the weather service notes.
