Canadian lawmaker busted in St. Paul prostitution sting


An Alberta, Canada Legislative Assembly member in town for a conference this week was arrested during an undercover prostitution sting Monday night, according to the Pioneer Press.

Michael Trent Allen, 51, of Fort McMurray, Alberta responded to an ad on, met with two female undercover officers and allegedly agreed to pay for sexual services, police said.

Allen was one of 13 men arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution. He released Tuesday morning.

The newspaper noted that Allen is listed as an attendee at the Council of State Governments' Midwestern Legislative Conference in St. Paul.
