A man died after falling from a 2nd story patio door that didn't have a deck attached.

Kevin Wilfred Morrisseau was found unconscious on the ground in Grand Portage, near the Canadian border in Minnesota, at around 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

The 47 year old was a resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario but worked at the Grand Portage Lodge and Casino.

He was socializing with friends at a property in the Bay Estates area of Grand Portage at the time of the incident.

He reportedly fell from patio doors designed to open out onto a deck, only one hadn't been built yet, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
